YATSI's third ordinary joint meeting

On March 7, 2024 YATSI's third ordinary joint meeting was held at CPH Labs and Bactolife

The Young Academy of Technology, Science & Innovation held the third ordinary joint meeting, which kicked off in the entrepreneurial community of CPH Labs located in Symbion in Copenhagen.

The meeting started with inspirational talks from STEM entrepreneurs: Jeppe Mouritsen, founding CEO of Henlez and Scott Quainoo, Co-founder & CEO at Unveil Bio. Their talks shed light on their unique startup journeys and what it means to build research-driven companies within STEM. Huge thanks to Jeppe and Scott for sharing their insights and engaging in interesting conversations with the YATSI members!
Scott Quainoo was also very kind to give us a guided tour of the facilities of CPH Labs at Symbion – great to see the entrepreneurial community there!

In the afternoon the meeting was hosted in the inspirational settings of Bactolife, where chair of YATSI Sandra Wingaard Thrane serves as Co-founder and CSO.
The members held a feedback session, where the 3 committees presented their work:
✔ YATSI Interact: currently working on a survey on industry-academia collaborations
✔ YATSI Inspire: is developing a meme contest targeted at young people in order to inspire them to study STEM
✔ YATSI Policy: currently working on a survey with the purpose of gathering information on what motivates or prevents individuals from starting up companies.

The members also discussed the upcoming application process of 2024, where the academy will be accepting 5-10 new members. We are looking forward to welcoming new young researchers from academia and industry across the STEM fields!
